Scarlett Knob Campground is a privately owned campground located on a scenic hilltop adjoining the 20,500 acre Ohiopyle State Park and overlooking the Youghiogheny River Valley.
Scarlett Knob is divided into two separate camping areas. One area has strict quiet hours beginning at 9 p.m. and limits 5 people to a site. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in this area. The other area is a GROUP Area with later quiet hours and separate sites for groups of 2-4, 5-8, 9-16, 17-35, and 36-60 people. Sites are wooded with tent space, picnic table, fire ring, and parking area. Water and electric (20 amp) hookups are not available in the group area. Facilities include flush toilets, pit toilets, and coin-operated hot showers. A fishing lake (no license required) and recreation field are available for use by Scarlett Knob Campers.
Reservations are not required but are strongly suggested due to limited space. For the 2020 Season, 1 Night reservations will be accepted except on Memorial Day and Labor Day Holiday Weekends. Memorial Day & Labor Day 2020 reservations require a minimum of 2 nights - Friday & Saturday or Saturday & Sunday. Everyone camping on your site pays for the stay of the group. We do not “swap campers” or permit late check-ins or early check-outs to avoid paying for the entire stay. You can charge your camping fees to your Visa or MasterCard. All credit card reservations are processed the day they are made. When reservations are made, we deal with one person per site. We accept payment from this person only. We do not accept multiple checks or charges for a single site reservation.
Refund Policy - We do NOT REQUIRE reservations. Your payment guarantees camping for a specific number of people on a specific site. Once we accept your reservation, we cannot and do not sell your space to anyone else. We do not over book. Due to limited availability & length of season, there are NO REFUNDS OR RESCHEDULES on late arrivals, no shows, or cancellations with less than 30 days advance notice. Cancellations with 30 days advance notice will be charged a processing fee of 8% of the total cost. No refunds includes, but is not limited to, inclement weather, illness, river conditions, or work schedules. Group leaders should be sure all group members understand the refund policy.
